47 Days
A l'amore! The Kunkel-Lehman wedding took me all the way to West Point New York this weekend. So while I was out of the rain, I did not find the time to do my usual runs. So, I sacrificed my first 10-miler until next weekend. Oh well. I went to do 8 today, but my calves were so tight, and the sky was threatening, so I cut it off at 6. I hope to do more later this week, and definately a 10-miler with Julie on Sunday, but this well may be my least prepared half-marathon yet.

55 Days
Elissa and I tried something new this weekend. We tried running with the Todd's Road Stumblers. I've found through this experience that a running club ahs it's advantages and disadvantages.
Advantages
1. You have other people to run with
2. You get discounts sometimes when you buy running shoes
3. You get motiviation to get up and run
4. There is coffee and donuts available after the run
5. You are sure to get your run done with early, so you have the rest of the day to enjoy
6. It's a nice community
Disadvantanges
1. You have to drive somewhere before running
2. When other people stop for water, whether you're in the zone or not, you stop too
3. You have to pick up the donuts sometimes too (alright, not a real disadvantage, you still get to eat them!)
4. If you're a coach and already get a discount, then the discount doesn't matter
5. It may take 3 or 4 hours of your day to go for a 9 mile run
6. You're sure to get your run in early
So, no matter what you choose, running club or no, I guess we'll all keep running the next 55 days until our half marathon!
In other news, Congratulations to Peter Cook and Jen Morris on their engagement! We're all so excited for you! Perhaps you should try running a half marathon together...I hear it's a great bonding experience!

60 Days
A nice even 60, time for a new message. I know Julie hit running hard last week after the bad weekend. The weather has also been more cooperative. Elissa is on a business trip, so hopefully she's either found her way around town, or on a treadmill. I don't know about you guys, but I hate the treadmill. I'd rather be outside just enjoying the fresh air...well, almost fresh, not quite if you run so close to busy streets...and the beautiful scenery!

68 Days
We're inside of 10 weeks for the half-marathon, and the weather has definately taken a turn for the worse! While we had some nice 60+ degree weather last week, this week we are down into the 20's for the high! It's tough on the lungs, a lot of clothes to wear, and is forcing some of us to run inside where it's difficult to get the distance.
Hang in there, girls...March is coming soon! Ah yes, March, the month of birthdays! And a happy early one to Julie(29), Teressa(27), and Amanda(26)!

74 Days
From everything I hear, we are all running well. Julie completed a solid 6 on Saturday (the big triple "S"), Elissa has been able to run every other day without consequence to her knees. I finished an 8 mile run yesterday, followed up by 5 today. Lately, running has been a little easier for me. Perhaps its because I know, anything I'm doing here doesn't compare to Phil's training in Germany. Perhaps it's because I feel like the two of us are training side by side, even if he's not here. I know I've always felt like Jules, Elissa and I were training together even if we didn't run together to much. Here's to the warmer weather that's coming this week, and to my soldier serving over in Germany!
